Dreams on the Hardwood

Playing basketball on an actual NBA court at the Clippers’ Intuit Dome with my son was an experience I’ll never forget. From the moment we stepped onto the floor, everything felt surreal — the lights, the space, the energy of the arena. Watching my son’s face light up as he took his shots on the same court as professional athletes was priceless. It wasn’t just about basketball; it was about sharing a moment that felt bigger than both of us.
As a parent, opportunities like this are rare and incredibly meaningful. The Intuit Dome delivered more than a world-class venue — it created a lifelong memory between a father and son. Being able to bond, laugh, compete, and dream together on that court is something we’ll talk about for years to come. I’m beyond grateful for the experience and can honestly say it was one of the most special moments we’ve shared.

All the gyms in the Antelope Valley. While serving in the Navy Cameroon,Japan Okinawa,Spain,Kuwait, even Spain. I've been playing basketball since Jr Hugh school now at the age of 44 I was able to step foot on an actual NBA court and even score points on it . Im truly greatfull that G300 Dream Legacy allowed me to participate in this event with such a group of great people. I just wanted to humbly show my appreciation and thanks to Ian and all of the people that helped organize and make this memorable event happen. THANK YOU !!

Basketball has always been more than just a game to me; it has been the compass of my life, from the barangays of my youth to the professional leagues of Dubai. It opened doors to stable employment and connected me with mentors who believed in me when I was just starting out. While my path wasn't always easy—facing missed opportunities and a denied UK visa that humbled my impulsive nature—I remained steadfast in my faith. My ultimate dream was to reach the USA, a goal that felt out of reach until my wife’s unwavering support helped turn our visa application into a reality in 2024. After years of waiting and trusting in God’s perfect timing, a once-in-a-lifetime invitation arrived: to play on an NBA court in Dallas. This wasn't just about the sport; it was about hitting "two birds with one stone" by reuniting with my family and fulfilling a childhood dream. Balancing the responsibilities of being a father to college students with the fire of an athlete required sacrifice and alignment, but with my family’s 101% support, I stepped onto that court. Today, I look back at the journey from Dubai to Dallas with a grateful heart, realizing that what once felt like a distant dream is now a permanent part of my story. This experience is truly one for the books, a testament to the fact that when you honor the game and trust the process, the world opens up. To God be all the glory for the opportunity, the confidence, and the lifelong love for the game.

Stepping onto the Dallas Mavericks’ NBA court was the fulfillment of a lifelong bucket list dream that resonates deeply with the Filipino passion for the game. Although I was sidelined from playing due to post-ACL surgery, I was deeply honored to contribute as the hype-up commentator, witnessing the pure joy of Filipino ballers from around the globe. Experiencing the energy from a courtside seat made this more than just a game; it was a moment of living the dream I’ve held for years. I am immensely grateful to the organizers—G300, Ian Catolico, and AlamNa Baby James—for turning this vision into an unforgettable reality. With a heart full of gratitude and "daghang salamat," I am already looking forward to the next chapter of this incredible journey.

Growing up in the Philippines, I spent my childhood immersed in the local game, never imagining that my passion would eventually lead me to play on a U.S. court graced by NBA superstars. Today, as an organizer in Lubbock, Texas, I have the distinct honor of leading delegates from our city to share in this life-changing experience on the hardwood of the American Airlines Center. This journey was made possible by the vision of Sir Ian Catolico, whose dedication to fulfilling the dreams of Filipino basketball enthusiasts creates a unique bridge between our heritage and the world’s biggest stage. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to witness firsthand the smiles and joy that come from playing in such a prestigious arena. Here’s to many more unforgettable moments and the continued mission of bringing the Filipino basketball spirit to the global spotlight.

From a six-year-old boy in the Philippines inspired by Michael Jordan to a man nearing fifty in the United States, my dream of the NBA never faded. That lifelong aspiration finally became a reality on January 14, 2026, when I joined the Filipino NBA Tour team at the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks. The experience was truly surreal—playing on the same hardwood as legends, sitting on the official team bench, and watching the pre-game warmups of rising stars from just feet away. I am incredibly grateful to Ian Catolico and BBJames Abucejo of AlamNa Promotions for selecting me to be part of this unforgettable event that bridged my childhood dreams with my adult reality. This once-in-a-lifetime journey proves that it is never too late to step onto the court you’ve always imagined.

Ian, salamat kaayo sa gi share nimo nga “once in a lifetime experience” nga Kalipay. If you didn’t do that, I shouldn’t have spent my time playing basketball at the age of 57 in an NBA court.
